We have added the procedures involved in adding new subscription electronic resources (“Premium Content”) to the Intranet. You will also find a link to the checklist we ask vendors to complete as part of our evaluation of their product. Work continues on documentation of the criteria that staff use to evaluate the content within each resource for decision-making.
In September 08, we will be removing the “Recreation and Hobbies” category from our Research Tools and adding “Automotive”, “Consumer”, “Do-It-Yourself”, and “Explore the World”. Also, “History and Geography” will be renamed “History”. This reassignment of premium content and Internet sites should better match the browsing patterns of our online users. More to come about what can be found in each top category as implementation occurs!
Our newsletter has gone high tech! This is now the place where you’ll learn about new reference guidelines, database trials, activities of the Reference Services Committee, and much more.
