The spot where information about information lives

Syracuse University’s Social Media 101

At the Internet Librarian conference in October, I met a representative from Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies who was sharing information about a interesting event coming up in Seattle on December 9th.  I thought some of you might be interested in attending in your “free” time!

The event begins at 6pm with a short reception, presentation begins at 6:30pm, with networking to follow.  Syracuse asks that anyone planning to attend please RSVP to istalum@syr.edu or call 315-443-2911.

Here is brief description of the event from the presenter:  “My talk explores how social media is changing the business world. We look at how tools like Facebook, Twitter, etc. can be used to meet organizational goals — including how to use them and how not to use them. We also look at some of the exciting things Syracuse University and the iSchool are doing in this area. Social media is changing the world. Come strategize with leaders from the SU iSchool on how to use social media in advancing your personal and professional life.”
