February EBSCO Training Opportunities

2013 begins with some unique online training opportunities for librarians!  These free one-hour WebEx sessions will include an introduction to the database, searching tips, special features, and will include time for questions and answers.  All you need is a computer with internet access and a telephone or computer speakers/VOIP headset for the audio.  These will be recorded for viewing at your convenience if you are not able to join the live session(s) and will be available on our training site (http://training.ebsco.com).  To register, please click the link below the date.  If the class is full, please register for a future session on our training site.

Auto Repair Reference Center (ARRC) contains information on most major manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles, with repair information for most vintage makes starting as far back as 1954.  In this session, we will discuss the new interface and how easy it is to access drawings, step-by-step photographs, technical service bulletins and wiring diagrams for specific vehicles. We will also explore AutoIQ, a complete interactive guide to vehicle ownership and maintenance.

Legal Information Reference Center contains more than 310 full-text publications and thousands of legal forms.  We will discuss the interface designed specifically for this database and browse many top consumer-interest areas of law, including: business law, financial planning, family law, real estate, immigration and travel, patents, wills and estate planning.

Small Business Reference Center provides up to date information on topics such as starting a company, operations management, and sales.  We will discuss the interface designed specifically for this database and browse top business categories and a wide variety of information on small business and entrepreneurial subject areas, common business types, a help and advice section and creating business plans that lead to successful funding. We will also look at the business videos that provide critical information for business owners: interviews, ‘lessons learned’ features, lectures and ‘how to’ videos.
